In her quest to recapture the Tano South Constituency seat from the Deputy Regional Minister for Ahafo, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, the National Women’s Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress repeated the very villainous acts which led to her defeat in the 2016 elections.
Bissiw, this time around, sent thugs to Bredi, a village under Kwasu in the Bechem enclave ostensibly to terrorize the people from registering.
It just so happened that these machete and gun wielding thugs first drove three NPP activists (led by one Ericus), who had preceded the Member of Parliament with his entourage to the area met these thugs in two Mahindra Pick-ups in the companies of one Sule who is the NDC’s constituency first vice chairman and the organizer, one Amoabeng.
No sooner had this happened than the NPP’s first vice chairman, Kofi Asare reaches the scene with his team. Once again, these Bissiw thugs threatened to shoot them if they come forward. This led to them calling the Member of Parliament, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, who in a matter of minutes reached the spot with military personnel who rounded these thugs up and marched them to the Municipal Police Office in Bechem.
The thugs are believed to have been imported from Burkina Faso and have been in the country for months now.
It could be recalled that in the run-up to the 2016 elections, the then Tano South MP, Hannah Louisa Bissiw, tormented members of the then opposition NPP with these same thugs.
She ended up losing the 2016 polls. It appears she is back to her old, cunning and murderous ways of politicking in the Tano South zone.
Once again, the Deputy Regional Minister for Ahafo who scuttled these plans in opposition has acted swiftly by getting these heavily built men behind bars.
In their statements to the police, the thugs and the two party executives mentioned Bissiw as the one who hired their services.
The National Women’s Organiser of the NDC has since left the area as a result of the incident.
