Breaking: Carlos Ahenkorah resigns

Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah has resigned from his position as the deputy minister with immediate effect.

This follows after the minister received backlashes from the general public on various social media platforms for breach of the COVID-19 protocols of visiting various registration centres when he was tested positive of the coronavirus and supposed to be in self-isolation.

Mr. Ahenkorah, who is also Member of Parliament for Tema West admitted on radio, that he visited some registration centres in his constituency, but did not put any life in danger.

“I did not put the life of the people I met at the registration centres at risk. I tried to observe the various protocols put in place to fight the deadly disease. My results came back last week and my Medical Directors said after a week, I could go out”, he said.

Prior to his resignation, www.fronpageghana.com had it that the Tema West MP was asked to resign honourably or be fired by the President for flouting the protocols of the COVID-19.
