NC worse than Nyantakyi’s era – Football pundit

The Normalisation Committee has become hugely unpopular with some football pundits beginning to regret the ‘ousting’ of former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Mr. Nyantakyi resigned from GFA and was subsequently banned for life by FIFA last year following alleged corruption scandal against him by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The General Secretary of the Ghana Coaches Association, John Quayson, is one of those who believe the NC has not lived up to expectation, although it has finally organised a novelty league to keep clubs busy ahead of the regular season.

“Football is really worse under the Normalisation Committee than under Kwesi Nyantakyi dispensation. It’s so serious that we need to let them leave early. Nyantakyi was really performing, but Ghanaians wanted him out, not because of performance, but because he has kept long,” Mr. Quayson told Angel TV on Sunday.

“Things weren’t that bad that we would need years or rocket scientists to solve the current situation. The intervention of FIFA was timely for some cleansing, that we could have used only few months to finish, not years.

“The administration of football is not easy. It needs people with the brains in that field, not people who read about the game. I am appealing to Dr. Kofi Amoah (NC chairman), they should not go to Afcon. Afcon is not for them. They should stay back and finish with the work on time,” he reiterated.
