Football not reform in bedrooms – George Afriyie tells NC Chair

In what appears to be a combined anger by “football people” a former GFA Vice President, George Afriyie also took a swipe at the chairman of the Normalisation Committee, Dr. Kofi Amoah, stressing the NC chair cannot reform Ghana football in his bedroom.

The NC facilitated the resumption of domestic football in the country known as ‘Special Competition’ after eight months of inactivity.

However, George Afriyie has slammed the Dr Kofi Amoah-led NC for doing so little to bring football back on track.

The aspiring GFA president is livid over how the NC has handled football activities in the country.

“What have we witnessed so far? The painting of the GFA office? Is that what you show for six months of football inactivity if there is something I don’t know?”

George Afriyie added that football administrators are willing to support Dr Amoah’s NC provided he is ready to count on their support and show transparency.

“If Dr Amoah is to stay for 2 years to reform football; some of us will support him provided you carry us along to know what you are doing.

“You don’t reform in your bedroom, if you want to reform football let us know that I am doing A, B, C. 90 percent of key stakeholders of football are the clubs.”

George Afriyie was sacked as vice president by Kwesi Nyantayi in April 2018, before the latter’s alleged corrupt dealings were exposed in the ‘Number 12’ documentary by Tiger Eye Pi two months after in June.
